Black food, as the pioneer of health food, has been lurking in many food fields, and has not been discovered and paid attention to. As early as 30 years ago, Professor and researcher Lai Laizhan, who is recognized as the "father of China's black food" in the industry, began to study the nutritional value of black food. The concept of eighth nutrient was discovered and proposed successively. Professor Lai's research found that as long as the food dressed in dark colors contains biopigments composed of melanin, anthocyanins, flavonoids and polyphenols, such biopigments have antioxidant, health, beauty, longevity and other extremely important nutritional functions for human beings. In the world, for the first time, thousands of flavonoids, polyphenols, anthocyanins, and melanin, which are rich in black foods with antioxidant and anti-aging functions, have been summarized as meta-nutrients, that is, the eighth nutrient.

After decades of research, planting and development, China's black food industry has begun to take shape. The black agricultural industry counties represented by Rong County in Guangxi, Yang County in Shaanxi, Jiaoling County in Guangdong, Longli County in Guizhou and Miyun County in Beijing have already laid out the black food industry, but they cannot form influence. Black industry and black consumption are poised for development.

In order to accelerate the development of high-quality and efficient black health food industry and promote the consumption of black food, black food as the theme exhibition area of "2018 China Guangzhou Health Food and Black Food Expo" will be held in Guangzhou Poly World Trade Expo Hall from August 24 to 26, 2018; At the same time, the "China Black Food Industry Development Conference" will be held. The conference will be from trade sales, industry research, technical discussion, regional development and project financing and other areas. The conference is organized by "the father of China's black food", the founder of national black functional food science, and has won the first and second prizes of National Science and Technology Progress and the winner of special allowance for outstanding contributions issued by The State Council. Professor Lai Laizhan, researcher of Guangdong Academy of Agricultural Sciences, as the chief initiator of this event, participated in the planning and launching of this conference.
